Holler Mountain, our most popular organic blend, features Direct Trade and certified organic coffees from Central and South America and Indonesia. As with all of our Direct Trade coffees, the producers who contribute their coffee to this blend devote attention to the cultivation and processing of the coffee.
This popular organic offering flourishes as a versatile blend designed to perform well in a variety of brew methods. From its inception, we built this blend to produce a dynamic, yet integrated organic espresso option that would remain stable year round and provide an approachable cup. It displays a subtle resemblance to our Hair Bender Blend, but fills out the low end with a heavier body and rich, chocolate sweetness.
The coffees in this blend demonstrate the principles of our Direct Trade program: coffee quality improvement, incentive based rewards to the farmer and transparency of the supply chain. Cherry selection and processing are meticulous at each farm that contributed to Holler Mountain. Some of our longest standing Direct Trade relationships provide the foundation for this blend.
Latin America
Fully washed coffees from Central and South America bring floral and fruit notes as well as deep layers of sweetness ala toffee and caramel. Cherry flotation, extended fermentation, soaking and proper storage are key elements to providing the lively, delicious and clean Latin American coffees found in Holler Mountain.
Indonesia
A semi-washed coffee from the Aceh Province of the Sumatra Island in Indonesia provides creaminess as well as the weight, body and syrupy mouthfeel that help tie together other flavor elements in this blend.
