Colombia Variety, aka Variedad Colombia, is a hybrid of the Robusta and Arabica species developed in Colombia to combat diseases while increasing yields. Over the past several decades, ten versions of Colombia have developed known as F1-F10. F10, also called Castillo, is considered the highest quality and is now the most common Colombia variety. Although Colombia can have heightened levels of acidity, it’s rare that a pure Colombia variety coffee is found with great sweetness and transparency of flavor.
